Short answer: the SSC GD 2026 result is out. On 12 October 2026 the Staff Selection Commission posted PDF lists of candidates provisionally shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). That's 1,97,408 people out of 21,56,776 who sat the computer-based exam. If your roll number is in List-I (women) or List-II (men), you're through to the physical stage. All figures below come from SSC's own result write-up (No. HQ-C-3/2/2026-C-3, dated 12.10.2026) unless another source is named.
How to find your roll number in the PDF
- Go to ssc.gov.in → Results and open the Constable (GD) tab.
- Download List-I if you're a woman, List-II if you're a man. (Men shortlisted for the SSF are counted separately; List-III has 60 withheld results and List-IV has 88 debarred candidates.)
- On a laptop, press Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on a Mac) and type your 12-digit roll number, without spaces. On a phone, open the PDF in a viewer with search (Google Drive or Adobe Acrobat's magnifier icon) and do the same.
- Search by roll number, not name: names repeat across thousands of rows. If nothing shows up, check you opened the right list and typed every digit.
- Save the PDF. You'll want it when the CRPF call letter comes.
SSC says the results of three candidates (roll numbers 226280116594, 226280155470 and 326281403797) are withheld because of court cases.
The numbers
| Women (state-wise) | Men (state-wise, other than SSF) | Men (SSF, all-India) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shortlisted | 15,782 | 1,81,251 | 375 |
| UR column* | 7,039 | 78,459 | 150 |
*The UR figures include reserved-category candidates who qualified at the UR standard (for men: 9,474 EWS, 8,434 SC, 6,100 ST and 36,548 OBC).
The recruitment covers 25,487 vacancies across BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles and the SSF, according to Jagran Josh and Careers360. SSC also processed 13,231 candidates as UR because of the reservation option they chose when moving states; 246 of them were shortlisted.
Official cut-offs: by state, category and area
This is the bit that confuses people. There is no force-wise cut-off yet. SSC shortlisted candidates against each State/UT's vacancies, split by category and by area: general districts, border districts, and naxal/militancy-affected districts. Border and naxal-area candidates were first considered for their own area's vacancies and then for general-area ones (para 4). The cut-off is the normalised marks plus any NCC bonus of the last candidate shortlisted.
Some examples from the official annexures (UR, general area):
| State | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan | 126.83604 | 127.60868 |
| Uttar Pradesh | 126.13865 | 125.99306 |
| Haryana | 122.17047 | 128.42070 |
| Madhya Pradesh | 120.98517 | 124.70398 |
| Delhi | 114.12868 | 120.90349 |
The SSF (Secretariat Security Force, men only, all-India) has its own cut-offs: UR 146.17817, OBC 145.55766, EWS 144.20658, SC 140.95414, ST 135.03155, ESM 100.52099.
Where a row shows exactly 48, 40 or 32, no one or too few people were shortlisted, so SSC used the minimum qualifying marks (para 15.1).
Check your own state: our SSC GD 2026 cut-off checker has all 571 state/category/area rows from the write-up. Pick your gender, state, category and area, type your normalised marks, and it compares them for you.
01
Myth There's a single SSC GD 2026 cut-off for BSF, CISF or CRPF.
Fact Not at this stage. SSC's write-up lists cut-offs by State/UT, category and area (general, border, naxal/militancy-affected). Only the SSF has a separate all-India cut-off, for men. Forces are allotted later.
02
Myth If my marks match the cut-off, I'm definitely shortlisted.
Fact Ties are broken by Part A marks, then Part B, then Part C, then age (older first), then name (para 11). Your roll number in the list is the only proof.
03
Myth The PET/PST admit card will be on ssc.gov.in.
Fact SSC says call letters will be issued by CRPF, the nodal force, on rect.crpf.gov.in (para 16).
Minimum marks and NCC bonus
- Minimum qualifying marks (without NCC bonus): UR 30% (48 of 160), OBC and EWS 25% (40), SC, ST and ex-servicemen 20% (32).
- NCC bonus: C certificate 8 marks, B certificate 4.8, A certificate 3.2. Ex-servicemen don't get it.
- Marks were normalised across shifts under SSC's notice of 2 June 2025, so your raw score from the answer key may not match.
What PET/PST means, and what happens next
PET is the running test and PST is the height, chest and weight check. Both are run by the CAPFs, and SSC says call letters will be issued by CRPF, the nodal force, on rect.crpf.gov.in (para 16). As of 8:30 PM IST on 12 October, no PET/PST dates had been announced. After PET/PST come the detailed medical exam and document verification, and only then the final result and force allocation.
SSC also says the final answer keys and every candidate's marks, qualified or not, will go up on ssc.gov.in "in due course", visible after you log in (para 18).
Trend Monitor
Interest in SSC GD result searches was flat (3–5 on Google Trends' 0–100 scale) all week, then hit 100 on the evening of 12 October when SSC posted the lists, roughly a 20x jump (Google Trends, India, 7-day hourly, read about 8:25 PM IST). People are also searching for the result date and the admit card, which suggests many hadn't seen the result yet or are already looking for the PET/PST call letter.
