Ranabaali Box Office Collection Day 5: How Much Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika's Film Has Earned So Far

Ranabaali made about ₹7.10 Cr net in India on Day 5 thanks to Dasara. After six days it has roughly ₹59.65 Cr worldwide gross, about half of its reported ₹120 Cr budget. Here are the day-wise figures, the budget maths and what to watch next.

Vijay Deverakonda's Ranabaali earned about ₹7.10 crore net in India on Day 5 (Tuesday, 20 October 2026), which was Dasara. That brings its five-day India net to roughly ₹36.5 crore. Vijay Devarakonda, as many people spell his name in searches, needed a big comeback, but after six days the film has made about ₹59.65 crore worldwide gross. That is only about half of its reported ₹120 crore budget.

Last updated: 22 October 2026. All figures below are estimates from trade trackers (Sacnilk, Koimoi, FlickOnClick, TrackTollywood). The producers have not released official numbers, and the trackers don't fully agree. Where they differ, we show each figure.

Ranabaali box office collection day 5: the Dasara bump

The fifth day was a Tuesday, but it was also the Dussehra/Dasara holiday. Collections rose from ₹5.40 crore on Monday to about ₹7.10 crore, an increase of roughly 31%. That holiday spike is why "Ranabaali box office collection day 5" started trending.

The trackers don't agree on the exact Day 5 figure:

  • Sacnilk / FlickOnClick: ₹7.10 crore net
  • TrackTollywood: ₹7.18 crore net
  • Koimoi (early estimate): ₹6.75 crore net

The gap is small. It mostly comes down to when each site published and how it counted late-night shows. Even the highest figure is still below the opening-day ₹9.25 crore. Koimoi's Day 5 report said the "Dussehra boost falls short." Many trade watchers had expected the holiday to bring a figure close to the opening day.

What the trend tells you

  • Weak first weekend. Sunday (₹7.50 crore) was only slightly better than Saturday and well below Friday. Films with good word of mouth usually grow over the weekend.
  • The holiday helped, but only for a day. Wednesday fell back to ₹5.50 crore, about 22% below Dasara.
  • Week 1 will finish at about ₹46.5 crore India net and about ₹65 crore worldwide, according to FlickOnClick estimates.

Ranabaali worldwide collection so far

CheckpointIndia netIndia grossOverseasWorldwide gross

After Day 6 (Sacnilk)₹42.05 Cr₹48.90 Cr₹10.75 Cr₹59.65 Cr
Week 1 (FlickOnClick est.)~₹46.5 Cr——~₹65 Cr

The overseas number needs some caution. Sacnilk's ₹10.75 crore overseas figure is exactly the same as its Day 1 India gross, which may be a coincidence or a placeholder. For reference, Wikipedia lists the opening-day worldwide gross at ₹16.15 crore.

Net vs gross: net is what's left after GST is taken out of ticket sales. Gross includes tax. Worldwide figures are almost always reported as gross, so don't compare a net number directly with a gross one.

Budget vs recovery: is Ranabaali a hit or flop?

Mythri Movie Makers has not confirmed the budget. These are the figures reported so far:

  • About ₹120 crore: the most widely cited figure (Skyc Media, FlickOnClick)
  • ₹130 crore: Wikipedia's infobox
  • ₹84 crore including promotion: Bollymoviereviewz
  • The lead pair's combined fee is reportedly up to ₹30 crore. This is unverified.

Using the common ₹120 crore figure, the six-day worldwide gross of ₹59.65 crore covers just under 50% of the budget. Recovery is even weaker than that number suggests. A gross figure includes tax and the cinemas' share, so the money that actually reaches the producers and distributors is much lower. A film generally needs a worldwide gross well above its budget before the trade calls it a success.

The verdicts so far are blunt. Koimoi says the film "may end up as a box-office disaster." FlickOnClick says the second weekend (24–25 October) will decide the outcome, and notes the film has recovered only about half its cost.

The Netflix factor

Netflix has bought the streaming rights. Neither the deal value nor a streaming date has been announced. Digital rights often make up a large part of a big film's recovery, so the final financial picture could look better than the box office alone. We'll update this page when the deal or the OTT date becomes public. Until then, our weekly OTT releases roundup covers what's streaming now.

What could still change the numbers

Hindi release on 23 October

Until now Ranabaali has played only in Telugu. The Hindi version releases on Friday, 23 October 2026, including in US theatres through overseas distributor Prathyangira Films (per M9 News). With T-Series Films presenting the film, the Hindi version is the producers' best chance of a second wave. It will open against films already in theatres, though, and the mixed Telugu reviews will reach Hindi audiences before it does.

Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam

The film was originally scheduled for 11 September 2026. Post-production problems delayed the dubbed versions. Release dates for Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam are still unconfirmed.

Second weekend

If Saturday and Sunday of week two fall well below the ₹7 crore range, the film's theatrical run will probably be largely over by the end of the third week. A strong Hindi opening could add to the total, but a weak second weekend would make a "flop" verdict very hard to avoid.

Ranabaali reviews and ratings

Critics' reviews have been mixed to negative. Reviewers praised Vijay's commitment to the role, Rashmika Mandanna's performance and the couple's chemistry. They criticised the pacing, the 178-minute runtime, heavy violence, an uneven screenplay and the background score.

About the film: cast, crew and the real history

  • Full title: Ranabaali: The Legend of the Cursed Land, a Telugu period action drama
  • Director: Rahul Sankrityan (co-wrote the screenplay with Pramod Tammineni)
  • Producers: Mythri Movie Makers, presented by T-Series Films
  • Music: Ajay-Atul
  • Certificate and runtime: U/A, 178 minutes (CBFC)
  • Cast: Vijay Deverakonda (Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali), Rashmika Mandanna (Jayamma, his wife), Arnold Vosloo of The Mummy as the British villain Sir Theodore Hector, plus Easwari Rao and Raja Ravindra

The story is set in Rayalaseema during the Great Madras Famine of 1876–78. It was one of the worst famines in colonial India, and grain kept being exported while people went hungry. In the film, Ranabaali is a warrior tied to a prophecy who rebels against British officials shipping grain out of the starving region.

Vijay Deverakonda (Devarakonda): where Ranabaali fits in his career

Vijay Deverakonda (విజయ్ దేవరకొండ in Telugu) was born on 9 May 1989 in Hyderabad. His breakthrough came with Pelli Choopulu (2016) and Arjun Reddy (2017), which won him the Filmfare Best Actor (Telugu) award. Geetha Govindam (2018), also with Rashmika, is still his highest grosser.

Since then the results have been uneven. Liger (2022) and The Family Star (2024) flopped, Kushi came out in 2023, and sources disagree on Kingdom (2025): Wikipedia calls it "average," while Koimoi calls it a failure. According to Koimoi, Ranabaali is about to pass Liger's India total. That would make it his third-biggest film since COVID, behind Kingdom and Kushi. That isn't the comeback his fans hoped for, but it isn't a complete washout either.

Off screen, Vijay and Rashmika got engaged in October 2025 and married on 26 February 2026 in Udaipur. Their wedding photos became the most-liked Instagram post in India. Ranabaali is their first film together since the wedding, which explains much of the early interest. His next film, Rowdy Janardhana directed by Ravikiran Kola, is due in December 2026.

Bottom line

Ranabaali's Day 5 figure of about ₹7.10 crore was a holiday bump, not a turnaround. After six days the film has about ₹42 crore India net and roughly ₹59.65 crore worldwide gross, against a budget most often reported at ₹120 crore. The Hindi release on 23 October and the second weekend will decide whether it becomes a costly misfire or recovers partly. We'll update the table above every day.
