Under the advertisement, there's a minimum qualifying mark only in Section B (the subject-specific part), not in Section A, but the combined marks of both sections decide the final merit list. Shortlisting is subject to you clearing that Section B minimum and to the details in your application being correct.
Two ties sat exactly on the line. In UR and in ST, two candidates each had the same total as the cut-off, and DSSSB shortlisted only the one placed higher in the Tier-I technical/teaching section, under para 6(vi) of the advertisement.
How many posts are there?
The advertisement (No. 05/2025, 10 September 2025) lists 1,169 vacancies:

E-dossier: dates and what to upload
- When: the link is active from 19 October to 30 October 2026, only in the accounts of shortlisted candidates. DSSSB says it is also telling them by SMS and email.
- What: educational and professional certificates, degrees and mark sheets, caste certificate, proof of government service or ex-serviceman status, admit cards, and anything else that applies to you.
- Preferences: you must choose at least one post preference. The notice says preferences confirmed at this stage are final and irreversible, and you'll be allotted the first available preference your merit allows.
- If the portal fails: email screenshots to helpdesk-dsssb@delhi.gov.in within 48 hours after the window closes. If DSSSB accepts the glitch, it gives three extra days to upload.
- If you miss it: your candidature is treated as cancelled and no further chance is given, according to the notice.
Your eligibility and essential qualifications are judged as on the closing date of the application, so upload documents that show you met them then.
01
Myth Scoring exactly the cut-off means you're shortlisted.
Fact Not always. The notice says two UR candidates and two ST candidates were tied at the cut-off, and in each pair only the one placed higher in the Tier-I technical/teaching section was shortlisted.
02
Myth Being shortlisted means you've got the job.
Fact No. The notice says calling you for an e-dossier gives no right to selection. Final selection is on merit against the vacancies, subject to eligibility and document checks.
03
Myth You can change your department preference later.
Fact The notice calls preferences confirmed at the e-dossier stage final and irreversible. Once a post or department is allotted, no change is allowed.
