Avengers: Doomsday is expected in Indian theatres on Thursday, December 17, 2026. That's one day before its US release on December 18. Pinkvilla reported the date, but Disney India hasn't confirmed it yet. The newest update is an "exclusive preview" that will air during World Series Game 1, which is 5:30 a.m. IST on Saturday, October 24. Robert Downey Jr. plays the villain, Victor von Doom, not Tony Stark. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, the Fantastic Four and the original Fox X-Men all appear.

Avengers: Doomsday latest update: the World Series preview
Major League Baseball has confirmed that an exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday will air during World Series Game 1 between the Rays and the Brewers. The broadcast starts at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, October 23 on FOX.
- India time: 5:30 a.m. IST, Saturday, October 24
- When during the game: MLB hasn't said. It could air at any point in the broadcast.
- Where Indian fans should look: FOX doesn't broadcast in India. Your best bet is Marvel's official YouTube and X accounts, plus MLB's X account, on Saturday morning.
The teaser that started it
On October 22, MLB posted a 15-second teaser on X captioned "Something's coming." It shows a green-glowing Avengers logo inside storm clouds above a packed stadium. Disney's Chief Brand Officer Asad Ayaz reposted it, so the tie-in is clearly official.
Is it a full new trailer? Not confirmed
Insider accounts claimed a full new trailer would drop at 9 a.m. ET on October 23. Marvel has not confirmed this. Most entertainment outlets expect an extended clip instead, possibly the much-discussed "baseball scene." An MLB Network host who visited the set called that scene "iconic." Some YouTube channels are calling a new trailer "officially confirmed," and those claims aren't reliable. Until Marvel posts something on its own channels, treat "trailer 2" as a rumour.

Avengers: Doomsday India release date: December 17 or 18?
Around October 18, Pinkvilla reported that Avengers: Doomsday will open in India on Wednesday... no, Thursday, December 17, a day ahead of the US. NewsBytes and other Indian outlets picked up the report. The ticketing platform District still lists December 18, and Disney India hasn't announced a date.
A December 17 release lines up with other Asian markets. If it holds, the film gets a four-day opening weekend in India (Thursday to Sunday), which matters a lot for collections.

The film moved several times before landing here. It was first set for May 2, 2025, then May 1, 2026, and in May 2025 it moved to December 18, 2026.
Advance booking in India and expected ticket prices
As of October 19, BookMyShow and District had no Avengers: Doomsday showtimes. Disney India hasn't announced an advance booking date.
One industry outlet looked at how Spider-Man: Brand New Day was released and made a projection. It expects bookings for premium formats (IMAX, 4DX, recliners) around November, and general seats in early December. That's an estimate, not an announcement.
How much will tickets cost?
For comparison, the most expensive Spider-Man: Brand New Day ticket in Mumbai cost ₹2,690, and several premium shows were above ₹1,500. Expect Doomsday's premium seats in big metros to cost about the same or more, especially on opening weekend. Regular multiplex seats in smaller cities will cost far less.
A warning: avoid the unofficial site avengersdoomsday2026.com. It shows unsourced dates and prices as "confirmed." For real bookings, use only BookMyShow, District or the cinema chains' own apps.
Avengers: Doomsday cast
This is the biggest crossover Marvel has attempted. Heroes from three universes come together. In March 2025, Marvel revealed the cast in a livestream that ran about five and a half hours, and the company says it drew a record of around 275 million views.
Is Robert Downey Jr. playing Iron Man?
No. Robert Downey Jr. plays Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, the film's villain. He isn't playing Tony Stark. His casting and the film's title were announced together at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024.

Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool was confirmed at SDCC on July 26, 2026. Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Holland have only been reported, and Marvel hasn't officially confirmed them.
What is Avengers: Doomsday about?
The story is set 14 months after Thunderbolts*. The multiverse is collapsing, and heroes from three realities have to unite against Doom: the main MCU (Earth-616), the Fantastic Four's world (Earth-828) and the Fox X-Men's universe (Earth-10005).
Many fans believe Doom wins and builds "Battleworld," which would set up Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. That's speculation based on the comics. Marvel hasn't confirmed it.
Avengers: Doomsday trailer and footage timeline
- December 2025: Four teasers played before Avatar: Fire and Ash in theatres. Together they passed 1 billion views by January 16, 2026.
- April 2026: Footage at CinemaCon included a Thor vs. Doom fight.
- July 20, 2026: The official trailer came out and Infinity Vision tickets went on sale in the US. Reactions were mixed.
- August 2026: A Doom-focused "special look" got a warmer response, and more footage was shown at D23 on August 15.
- September 2026: Avengers: Endgame – Encore was re-released with new scenes tied to Doomsday.

How long is Avengers: Doomsday?
Ticketing listings show about 165 minutes (2h 45m). Anthony Russo has said it runs "about two and a half hours." Plan for anywhere from 2h 30m to 2h 45m, plus ads and the interval in Indian cinemas.
What is Infinity Vision?
In the US, Dune: Part Three has IMAX exclusivity, so Doomsday won't play on US IMAX screens for about three weeks. Disney created a premium-format label called "Infinity Vision" to cover those weeks. The IMAX gap applies to the US, so the film may still play in IMAX in other countries. Indian IMAX plans haven't been announced.
Box office buzz and presales
- $16.5 million in premium presales in the first 24 hours, more than double Deadpool & Wolverine
- $35 million by the end of August
- $50 million in domestic presales by early September. It's the first film to reach that figure 100 days before release, and about 70% came from premium formats.

An unofficial tracker puts worldwide presales above $100 million. Disney hasn't confirmed that number. General US tickets went on sale on August 14.

How Doomsday replaced The Kang Dynasty
Marvel originally planned The Kang Dynasty as the next Avengers film. After Jonathan Majors was fired in December 2023, the studio changed course. In July 2024 it announced Doomsday with the Russo brothers back as directors and RDJ as Doom. Filming ran from April 28 to September 19, 2025, at Pinewood, Shinfield and Windsor in the UK.
