PSSSB Group D Admit Card 2026 Out: How to Download It, Exam Date and What to Carry on 25 October

PSSSB released the Group D admit card for Advt. No. 04/2026 on 22 October 2026, three days before the written exam on Sunday, 25 October. This guide covers the download steps, why the link opens a GNDU page, and what to carry to the exam centre.

Yes, the PSSSB Group D admit card 2026 is out. The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board released the e-admit cards for Advt. No. 04/2026 on 22 October 2026, and the written exam is on Sunday, 25 October 2026. You can download yours from the "What's New" section on sssb.punjab.gov.in. That link takes you to a page on gndu.ac.in (Guru Nanak Dev University), and the redirect is expected.

The exam is three days away, so this guide sticks to what you need now: how to download the card, how to recover a lost login, what to check on the card, what to bring on exam day, and how this cycle differs from the older Advt. 08/2025 exam that still shows up in search results.

How to download the PSSSB Group D admit card 2026: step by step

  1. Go to the official site. Open sssb.punjab.gov.in in your browser. Type the address yourself instead of clicking a forwarded WhatsApp link.
  2. Open "What's New". Look for the notice about Group D admit cards "for 25.10.2026 written exam" under Advt. No. 04/2026.
  3. Click the admit card link. A new page opens on gndu.ac.in. This is the right portal (more on that below).
  4. Enter your login details. Usually that's your registration or application number plus your password or date of birth. Enter whatever the login form asks for.
  5. Submit and view. Your e-admit card appears on screen.
  6. Check every detail against the checklist further down before you print.
  7. Download and print. Save the PDF and print at least two clear copies. Keep a copy on your phone and in your email too, but you'll leave the phone outside the hall.

Tip: On release day the server gets heavy traffic. If the page times out, try again early in the morning or late at night, use a laptop instead of a phone, or switch browsers. Don't wait until Saturday night to print.

Why the PSSSB link opens gndu.ac.in, and whether it's genuine

Many candidates panic when the admit card link leaves the PSSSB website and opens a Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) page. If you reached it by clicking the link in the "What's New" section on sssb.punjab.gov.in, it's the genuine link. The redirect suggests GNDU is handling the exam on PSSSB's behalf, though the board hasn't said this directly in its notice.

Here's how to stay safe:

  • Always start from sssb.punjab.gov.in and follow the link from there.
  • Check that the address bar shows gndu.ac.in and not a lookalike domain.
  • The admit card is free. Any site that asks for payment or extra personal details to "unlock" it is a scam. If you lose money to one, report it using the steps in our 1930 cyber fraud helpline guide.

Forgot your registration number or password?

This is the most common reason people can't download their card. On the login page:

  • Click "Forgot Password" or "Forgot Application No."
  • Enter the mobile number or email ID you used when you applied.
  • Your details or a reset link will be sent to that number or email.
  • Search your inbox and spam folder for the original registration email. It usually contains the application number.

If you no longer have that mobile number or email, contact PSSSB right away. Use the helpline and email listed on the official website, and keep proof of your application (fee receipt or application printout) ready.

PSSSB Group D exam date, shift and reporting time

The PSSSB Group D exam date is 25 October 2026 (Sunday). It's an offline, objective-type test marked on an OMR sheet.

No public source gives one common shift or reporting time. These are printed on each candidate's admit card, together with the exam centre address. Treat your card as the only reliable source and ignore generic timings you see online.

Good practice for exam day:

  • Get to the centre at least 60 minutes before the reporting time on your card. Frisking and ID checks take time, and gates close strictly.
  • Visit or map the centre on Saturday so you know the route, parking and travel time.
  • Check for Sunday bus or train timetable changes if you depend on public transport.

Details to check on your admit card

Before you print, confirm each of these:

  • Your name, and your father's and mother's names
  • Roll number and application/registration number
  • Category and date of birth
  • Photograph and signature (both must be clear)
  • Exam centre name, full address and city
  • Exam date, shift and reporting time
  • Instructions printed on the card

Found an error? Contact PSSSB at once through the helpline or email on sssb.punjab.gov.in. Include your application number and a screenshot of the error. With the exam so close, don't wait. For small spelling mistakes, carry a photo ID showing the correct details and tell the invigilator.

Exam centre change: You can't change it. Once the admit card is issued, the centre printed on it is final.

What to carry to the PSSSB Group D exam centre

Must carry

  • Printed admit card: a clear printout, not a phone screenshot.
  • Original photo ID: Aadhaar, PAN card, Voter ID, passport or driving licence. Make sure the name matches the admit card.

You won't be let in without both. A photocopy of your ID or a digital copy on your phone isn't a safe substitute.

Good to carry

  • A second printout of the admit card
  • Two passport-size photos, matching the one you uploaded, in case they're asked for
  • A transparent water bottle, if your card's instructions allow it
  • A blue/black ballpoint pen, if the instructions say candidates should bring one

Banned items

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches and Bluetooth earphones or devices
  • Calculators and any electronic gadgets
  • Books, notes and loose paper
  • Bags and wallets

Many centres have no secure place to leave belongings, so leave anything valuable at home.

Scribe notice for PwD candidates

In October 2026, PSSSB issued a separate scribe notice for Group D candidates sitting the 25.10.2026 exam. If you're a candidate with a benchmark disability and need a scribe, read that notice on sssb.punjab.gov.in today. It explains the eligibility, the documents and the procedure. Get your disability certificate and any required forms ready before Sunday.

How many posts: 1,401, 2,007 or 2,098?

Different websites give different vacancy figures for PSSSB Group D because the number changed several times:

DateChangePosts
~24 Feb 2026Notification; applications 27 Feb – 20 Mar—
24 Aug 2026Corrigendum; applications reopened from 25 Aug1,401
Early Sept 2026Posts increased; deadline extended to 14 Sept2,007
17 Sept 2026Second increase; window 17–21 Sept2,098

The latest figure after both corrigenda appears to be 2,098 posts. Pages showing 2,007 simply haven't been updated. Posts include Sewadar/Peon, Chowkidar, Safai Sewak and Water Carrier-cum-Sweeper, among others. Most of the original 1,401 posts were under the Director of Animal Husbandry. To confirm, check the latest corrigendum PDF on the official site.

PSSSB Group D exam pattern (unconfirmed)

PSSSB hasn't published a clear exam pattern for Advt. 04/2026 that we could verify, and coaching sites contradict each other. FreeJobAlert lists this breakdown:

SectionQuestions/Marks
General Knowledge & Current Affairs25
Logical Reasoning25
Punjab History & Culture17
Punjabi13
English12
ICT8
Total100

Other sites describe 120- or 150-question formats with −0.25 negative marking, or a qualifying Punjabi paper plus a merit paper. Several of those describe the older Advt. 08/2025 exam. Go by the instructions on your admit card and the question booklet on the day. If negative marking applies, the booklet will say so, and you should avoid blind guessing.

Don't confuse this with Advt. 08/2025

Some pages that rank for "PSSSB Group D admit card 2026" are about a different exam: Advt. 08/2025 (406 posts). Its admit card came out on 31 March 2026 and the exam was held on 5 April 2026. If a page mentions 406 posts or an April exam date, it's about that cycle, not the 25 October exam.

Three-day checklist before 25 October

  • Thursday (22 Oct): Download the admit card, check every detail, and email PSSSB about any errors.
  • Friday (23 Oct): Print two copies. Find your original photo ID. PwD candidates should finish the scribe paperwork. Revise Punjab history, Punjabi grammar and recent current affairs.
  • Saturday (24 Oct): Visit or map the centre. Pack your admit card, ID and pen the night before. Do light revision only and sleep early.
  • Sunday (25 Oct): Leave early, arrive at least an hour before reporting time, and leave your phone and bag at home or with someone.

What comes next: answer key and result

PSSSB hasn't announced dates for the Group D answer key or result. Usually a provisional answer key comes first with a short objection window, then the result, followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. Keep your admit card safe, because you'll need the roll number for both. For other Punjab recruitments, see our Punjab lecturer cadre recruitment 2026 result update. Our weekly roundup of answer keys and admit cards released this week tracks other exams on the calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PSSSB Group D admit card 2026 released?

Yes. PSSSB released the Group D e-admit cards for Advt. No. 04/2026 on 22 October 2026. You can download them from the What's New section on sssb.punjab.gov.in. The link opens a download portal on gndu.ac.in. The card is available online only and won't be posted to candidates, so download and print it before exam day.

Why does the PSSSB Group D admit card link open gndu.ac.in?

The admit card link in the What's New section on the official PSSSB website goes to a page on gndu.ac.in, the Guru Nanak Dev University website. That suggests GNDU is handling the exam for PSSSB. The link is genuine as long as you start from sssb.punjab.gov.in, the address bar shows gndu.ac.in, and nobody asks you for payment.

What is the PSSSB Group D exam date and reporting time?

The written exam for Advt. No. 04/2026 is on Sunday, 25 October 2026, in offline OMR format. There's no single published reporting time. Your shift, reporting time and exam centre address are printed on your own admit card. Plan to arrive at least an hour before the reporting time shown on it.

What documents should I carry to the PSSSB Group D exam?

Carry a clear printed copy of your admit card and an original photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN card, Voter ID, passport or driving licence. You can't enter without both. Phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, books, notes, bags and wallets are banned. A spare printout of the admit card is a good backup.

Can I change my PSSSB Group D exam centre?

No. Once the admit card is issued, the exam centre printed on it is final and can't be changed. If you find a mistake in other details, such as your name, photo or category, contact PSSSB straight away through the helpline or email on sssb.punjab.gov.in, and carry an ID showing the correct details on exam day.

How many posts are there in PSSSB Group D 2026, 2,007 or 2,098?

The vacancy count changed more than once. It reached 1,401 posts after the August 2026 corrigendum, rose to 2,007 in early September, and went up again to 2,098 on 17 September 2026. The latest figure appears to be 2,098. Pages showing 2,007 are out of date. Check the corrigendum PDF on the official site to confirm.
