Tomorrow stock market open or close?
Open. Monday, 19 October isn't on either exchange's 2026 holiday list, so equity and F&O trade as usual: the pre-open session from 9:00 AM and the normal session from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM IST.

What's shut on Tuesday, 20 October

What it means for your money
- Settlement shifts by a day. 20 October is also a clearing holiday, so trades you make on Monday, 19 October settle on Wednesday, 21 October, broker FYERS told its clients. Profits from Monday's intraday or F&O trades won't show in your withdrawable balance on Tuesday.
- Withdrawals wait. Brokers process withdrawal requests placed after Monday evening on Wednesday. Check your own broker's notice for its cut-off.
- SIPs and mutual funds. A SIP date that falls on a market holiday is usually processed on the next business day. Your fund house's scheme documents have the exact rule.
- Banks are shut too. Tuesday, 20 October is a bank holiday at 32 of RBI's 34 regional offices. Check your city with our is my bank open checker or the full bank holiday list for October and November.

Why everyone is searching this now
The Nifty and Sensex ended Friday, 16 October at 23,146.15 and 74,729.27, capping their best week since April on the back of IT earnings (Mint, Zee Business). With a holiday in the middle of the coming week, traders are checking whether Monday and Tuesday are open before planning positions. Dussehra falls on different days in some regions, which adds to the confusion; for the exchanges, only Tuesday counts.
