Delhi traffic police Lok Adalat token for 25 October: how to download it, which challans qualify, what to carry
The Delhi traffic police Lok Adalat token window opened at 10 AM on 19 October for the National Lok Adalat on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Only compoundable challans pending up to 30 June 2026 qualify, and downloads stop at 50,000 a day and 2 lakh in all. Here's how to get yours, what's excluded, and what actually happens at the court.
TL;DRThe short version
- Token window open now. Slips for the National Lok Adalat on Sunday, 25 October 2026 have been downloadable since 19 October, 10 AM on the Delhi traffic police portal, capped at 50,000 challans a day and 2 lakh in all (DSLSA notification, 9 Sep). If every day's quota fills, the cap runs out after 22 October.
- Only compoundable challans pending up to 30 June 2026 on the Virtual Court portal qualify. Reports list overspeeding, red-light jumping, no helmet or seatbelt, no insurance and wrong parking as eligible; drunk driving, hit-and-run and FIR-linked cases are not.
- It's a settlement, not an automatic waiver. The bench decides your fine on the day and you pay it there, in cash, per DSLSA's bench FAQ. Carry printed token and slip, original RC, licence, insurance, PUC and photo ID.
- Enter your vehicle number, captcha and the OTP on your registered mobile, pick your challans, court complex and slot, then download and print the token: traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalatThis is the link on DSLSA's own homepage. The portal is slow under load; if it times out, try again later in the day rather than paying a 'token agent'.

The 25 October Lok Adalat is under way or over. Unsettled challans wait for the next one, or can be paid on the Virtual Court portal.
How to download the Lok Adalat token
- Open traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalat. This is the link DSLSA itself puts on dslsa.org under "Download Challan Token".
- Enter your vehicle number and the captcha, then the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with the vehicle.
- Select the eligible challans you want to settle.
- Pick a court complex and an available time slot, submit, and download the token and challan slip.
- Print both. There's no printing facility at the court (Daily Jagran).
If your number isn't registered with the vehicle, you won't get the OTP. Get the mobile number on your vehicle record updated first.
Will my challan qualify? Quick check
The checker runs in your browser. It uses the cut-off and limits in DSLSA's 9 September notification and the offence lists published by Daily Jagran. The portal has the final say: if a challan isn't offered for selection, it isn't part of this Lok Adalat.
Which challans qualify, and which don't
DSLSA's notification is short on detail. It says the Lok Adalat will take "compoundable challans pending till 30.06.2026" on the Virtual Court portal. Compoundable means offences the law lets you settle with a fine instead of a trial.
- Reported as eligible: overspeeding, red-light jumping, no helmet, no seatbelt, no insurance, wrong parking.
- Not eligible: drunk driving, hit-and-run, anything linked to an FIR, and other non-compoundable offences.
- Too new: anything after 30 June 2026. Pay those online on the Virtual Court portal (choose Delhi, then Traffic Department) or wait for the next Lok Adalat.
One caution: the portal's page header has also shown an older line, "challans/notices issued till 31.03.2026", in search results, probably carried over from the deferred September sitting. The signed DSLSA notification for 25 October says 30 June 2026. Go by what the portal actually lets you select.
Why you shouldn't wait
The numbers explain the rush. Downloads are capped at 50,000 challans a day, and the whole Lok Adalat stops at 2 lakh. If demand fills each day's quota, the window effectively closes after 22 October, three days before the court sitting. Interest was close to zero all month and hit its peak on 19 October, so the first days are likely to be the most crowded. If the portal times out, try early morning or late evening, and don't pay anyone who offers to "book a token" for you. The process is free and online.
What happens at the court on 25 October
This is the part most guides skip. DSLSA's FAQ for Lok Adalat benches (written for the February 2026 sitting) describes how a challan is disposed of:
- A court official scans the barcode on your challan slip, either the printed copy or one on your phone.
- Your challan appears before the bench it was allotted to. A bench can't take another bench's challans, so go to the complex and slot on your token.
- The Lok Adalat judge pronounces the fine. If you're let off with a warning ("admonished"), the amount is recorded as ₹0.
- You pay the fine in cash there.
- You get an SMS confirming the challan is disposed of. No signed receipt is handed out.
So bring cash, your printed token and slip, and the original RC, driving licence, valid insurance and PUC, plus a photo ID. Daily Jagran also lists an authorisation letter "wherever applicable", for example if you aren't the registered owner.
01
Myth Lok Adalat waives every pending challan.
Fact No. It settles eligible challans. The bench decides the amount: some are let off with a warning (DSLSA's FAQ tells court staff to enter ₹0 for an 'admonished' challan), others pay a fine. ABP Live notes that how much relief you get depends on your case.
02
Myth I can just turn up at the court on 25 October.
Fact Registration is mandatory. You need the token and challan slip you download from the portal, printed, because there's no printing at the court (Daily Jagran).
03
Myth Any challan can be settled, including drunk driving.
Fact Only compoundable offences pending up to 30 June 2026 are taken. Drunk driving, hit-and-run and FIR-linked cases aren't (Daily Jagran).
04
Myth I'll pay by UPI at the bench.
Fact DSLSA's FAQ for Lok Adalat benches says the violator deposits the fine in cash and then gets an SMS confirming disposal. Carry cash.

- Look-alike sites. Search ads and WhatsApp forwards for "Lok Adalat token" will appear. Use only the traffic.delhipolice.gov.in link above, or reach it from dslsa.org.
