Rajasthan High Court stenographer speed test

Practise for the RHC stenographer skill test (Advt. No. 1032). Type for 1–10 minutes and see your key depressions per hour against the 8,000 benchmark, or work out how long a dictation passage should be at 70 or 80 words per minute. Runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

Practice aid, not the official software. Benchmarks are from the recruitment advertisement as reproduced by SarkariForms and SarkariMission: English 80 wpm and Hindi 70 wpm dictation for 6 minutes with 50 minutes to transcribe; computer speed test at least 8,000 key depressions an hour; efficiency test 10 minutes. The real test scores accuracy too. Download your admit card on rhcexam.rajasthan.gov.in/steno2026.

02 How it counts

Key depressions, explained

  • Key depressions per hour = characters you typed (letters, spaces, punctuation) ÷ minutes × 60. 8,000 an hour is about 133 a minute, or roughly 27 words a minute at 5 characters a word.
  • Backspaces are not counted here, and we don't check accuracy. The official test does, so practise with real passages and proofread.
  • Hindi in Kruti Dev uses a different keyboard layout; practise on the layout you will use in the exam (SarkariMission reports Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi, Calibri for English).
