Yes, the ICAI result for CA Intermediate September 2026 is out. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India released it on the morning of 22 October 2026, at about 10:07 AM IST. You can check your scorecard at caresults.icai.org (icai.nic.in is also listed as a result site) with your registration number and roll number.
ICAI's notice of 14 October had said the result would come "likely by the evening of 22 Oct 2026", so it arrived a few hours early. This page covers the login steps, the passing rule, group-wise pass rates, the toppers, and what to do in the weeks after the result.
ICAI result status: what's out and what's pending
Searches for "ICAI result" right now mix up three different exams. Here's where each one stands as of 22 October 2026:
| Exam (September 2026 session) | Exam dates | Result status |
|---|---|---|
| CA Intermediate | Group I: 1, 3, 6 Sep; Group II: 8, 10, 12 Sep | Declared on 22 Oct 2026 |
| CA Foundation | 2, 5, 7, 9 Sep | No official date yet |
| CA Final | Per ICAI schedule | No confirmed update. Check icai.org |
This session is moving faster than last year's. ICAI released the September 2025 Final, Inter and Foundation results together on 3 November 2025. The Inter result this year came about 12 days earlier than that.
ICAI CA Inter result direct link
- Main result portal: caresults.icai.org
- Alternate result site: icai.nic.in
- Official notices and press releases: icai.org
Expect the portal to be slow for the first few hours after a result goes live. If the page times out, wait a few minutes and try again instead of refreshing over and over. Only use the official domains above. Results that arrive through forwarded links or "result PDF" messages on WhatsApp can be phishing attempts.
How to check the CA Inter result September 2026
- Open caresults.icai.org in your browser.
- Click the link for CA Intermediate Examination, September 2026. Don't pick Foundation or Final by mistake.
- Enter your registration number and your roll number, which is printed on your admit card.
- Type the captcha exactly as shown and submit.
- Your marks statement opens. It shows paper-wise marks, the group total and your pass or fail status.
- Download it as a PDF, or take a screenshot, and save a printout. You'll want it for articleship, job applications and your Jan 2027 plans.
Login not working? Quick fixes
- "Invalid details": recheck the roll number against your admit card. Registration numbers are often typed with the wrong prefix or a missing digit.
- Page not loading: switch to the alternate site, or try again from mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
- Captcha keeps failing: reload the captcha. Don't retype the old one.
CA Inter passing marks: the 40/50 rule
To pass a CA Intermediate group you need at least 40% in each paper and at least 50% aggregate across all papers in that group. Each group has three papers of 100 marks, so you need 150 out of 300 in total, with no paper below 40.
Some examples:
- Marks of 45, 52 and 58 add up to 155 and every paper is above 40, so you pass.
- Marks of 38, 70 and 65 add up to 173, but one paper is below 40, so you fail the group.
- Marks of 42, 48 and 45 clear 40 in every paper but add up to only 135, so you fail on aggregate.
If you failed the group but scored very well in one paper, check whether your marks statement shows an exemption for that paper. ICAI's scheme gives paper-wise exemptions for high scores, and an exemption changes how you plan your next attempt. If you're not sure about your status, the current ICAI scheme rules on icai.org are the final word.
CA Inter pass percentage September 2026 (group-wise)
These figures have been widely reported by news and coaching sites on result day:
| Category | Appeared | Passed | Pass % |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group I | 1,00,301 | 23,210 | 23.14% |
| Group II | 68,400 | 12,938 | 18.92% |
| Both groups | 38,339 | 5,066 | 13.21% |
A word of caution: some pages are showing a different set of numbers (10.25%, 16.11% and 8.47%). Those look like the May 2026 session figures that have been carried over. The table above is internally consistent: the appeared and passed counts produce the stated percentages. ICAI's official press release on icai.org is the final reference, so check it before quoting these numbers anywhere formal.
What the numbers show is that roughly one in four Group I candidates passed, and only about one in eight who sat both groups cleared the full Intermediate level in one go. Failing a group puts you in the large majority. It isn't a verdict on your career.
CA Inter toppers September 2026
| All India Rank | Name | Marks (out of 600) | Percentage |
|---|---|---|---|
| AIR 1 (tie) | Neel Rajesh Shah | 502 | 83.67% |
| AIR 1 (tie) | Chandak Sakshi | 502 | 83.67% |
| AIR 2 | Shruti V | 492 | 82.00% |
| AIR 3 | Prem Agarwal | 490 | 81.67% |
Some portals still list the May 2026 toppers alongside this session's names, so make sure a list you're reading is for September 2026. ICAI publishes the official merit list with its result press release.
CA Foundation result September 2026: when?
ICAI has not announced a date for the CA Foundation September 2026 result. Unofficial estimates range from 20 to 26 October, and one coaching estimate puts it at 23–26 October. These are guesses, and some portals have contradicted themselves by calling the result "declared" in one place and "soon" in another.
The reliable signal is an ICAI exam notice on icai.org. ICAI gave about a week's notice before the Inter result, so expect a similar announcement before Foundation results go live. When it comes, you'll check the result on the same caresults.icai.org portal with your roll number and registration number.
What to do after the ICAI result
1. Verification of marks and certified copies
If your marks look wrong, especially if you're just a few marks short of 40 in a paper or 50% aggregate, you can apply for verification of marks or request a certified copy of your answer book. ICAI has not yet announced the application window for this session. Watch the exam announcements on icai.org, because these windows are short and late applications aren't accepted. Before the window opens:
- Save your marks statement PDF.
- Note the exact papers you want reviewed.
- Keep your login details ready for the self-service portal.
2. Pass certificate
If you passed, ICAI sends the pass certificate within about 60 days. If nothing has arrived after 8 weeks, email dms_examhelpline@icai.in with your registration number, roll number and the session (CA Intermediate, September 2026). Until then, the online marks statement is your proof of result.
3. Plan your Jan 2027 attempt
If you need to reappear in one or both groups, these are the reported dates:
- Exam form window for CA Jan 2027: reportedly opens on 3 November 2026.
- CA Inter Jan 2027, Group I: 2, 4 and 6 January 2027.
- CA Inter Jan 2027, Group II: 8, 10 and 12 January 2027.
- Timing: 2 PM to 5 PM.
These Jan 2027 dates come from Careers360 reporting, not an ICAI notice we could verify. Confirm them on icai.org before booking travel or leave. Foundation aspirants should also note that ICAI's Jan 2027 mock test Series 1 runs from 1–9 December, and the mock papers were posted on icai.org on 21 October.
4. Cleared both groups?
Once you've passed both groups of Intermediate, the next steps are practical training (articleship) and the courses ICAI requires before the Final. Check the current scheme on icai.org for how the timing works for your batch.

A note on a related search: "kerala lottery results dl 74" has nothing to do with ICAI. It refers to the Kerala State Lottery's weekly Dhanalekshmi draw, which has a ₹1 crore first prize. Check it only on the Kerala Lotteries department's official channels.
