England vs Pakistan is under way in Lahore on 25 October 2026. It is the fourth match of the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series, and the result could decide the series. Pakistan won the toss and bowled, and Shaheen Afridi's new-ball spell left England 38/3 after 7.3 overs. Ben Duckett was batting on 26 off 21 balls.
A Pakistan win takes them straight into the 31 October final. England have lost both their matches so far, so they need a win to stay in the race. The result had not come in when this post was written. We will add the final score and player of the match once it is confirmed. This page covers the scorecard so far, how to watch in India, the team changes, the key players and the updated tri-series table.
England vs Pakistan live score: what has happened so far
The snapshot below is from Cricinfo and CricTracker, early in England's innings on 25 October 2026. For the live, ball-by-ball version, use the Cricinfo live scorecard.
| Batter | Status | Runs |
|---|---|---|
| Tom Banton | Out at 0.5 overs | 4 |
| Joe Root | Out | 11 |
| Harry Brook (c) | Run out | Not confirmed |
| Ben Duckett | Not out | 26 (21 balls) |
| England | 38/3 after 7.3 overs | |
Bowling: Shaheen Afridi had 2 wickets in his first 4 overs. Live sources gave slightly different figures for the runs he conceded, so we have left that number out until the official scorecard settles it.
Losing Banton, Root and Brook inside eight overs was the worst possible start for England. Two of those three made the big runs in the first two games: Banton's 57 against Pakistan and Brook's 202 against Sri Lanka.
Where to watch England vs Pakistan in India (TV and live streaming)
Indian fans have only one legal option.
- India: the match is not on any TV channel. It streams on the Veto app, according to Yahoo Sports.
- Pakistan: PTV Sports on TV, plus streaming on Tapmad, Tamasha and the PCB Live app (Wisden, Tapmad).
- UK: Sky Sports digital and PCB Live, according to Sportsdunia. We have only one source for this, so treat it as unconfirmed.
The match starts at 1:30 pm IST (1:00 pm local time in Pakistan). It is a day/night game, so the second innings runs into the Indian evening. We don't link unofficial streams. Use the app or the live scorecard. If you're also following India's own white-ball cricket in late October 2026, our India vs New Zealand T20 streaming and squads guide has those timings.
Playing XI changes: Shadab back, Razaullah and Henry Crocombe debut
Both teams made changes from their previous matches, according to Dawn's toss report:
- Pakistan: leg-spinning all-rounder Shadab Khan returns. Fast bowler Razaullah makes his ODI debut in place of Naseem Shah, who is injured.
- England: Henry Crocombe makes his ODI debut in place of Josh Tongue.
England are also without Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell, who are both injured. That is why Harry Brook is captain and why the batting order has had to change. Sri Lanka have lost Pathum Nissanka to a hamstring injury, and Lahiru Udara has replaced him. For the full eleven on each side, check the Cricinfo scorecard linked above. We are only listing the changes we could confirm. England's board posts its squad news on the ECB website.
Key players to watch
Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan captain
Shaheen is leading Pakistan in this series and opened the bowling with two early wickets. Before the match he said it was a "good headache to have that everyone is performing", which explains why searches for his name were up 1,000% in India on 25 October 2026. He has a good record against England: he took 4/30 against them in the T20 World Cup Super 8 game at Kandy on 24 February 2026, although England won that match by 2 wickets.
Tom Banton, England opener
Banton top-scored for England with 57 off 53 balls when Pakistan beat them on 20 October. In September 2026 he made his first ODI century, 126 off 105 against Sri Lanka at The Oval. This time he fell in the first over for 4. He has also been in the news after saying he is happy to put his red-ball career on hold to chase a World Cup place with England.
Henry Crocombe, England debutant
Crocombe comes into the side for Josh Tongue. England have conceded 302/9 to Pakistan and 430/8 to Sri Lanka in this series, so their bowling is under real pressure. A debut in Lahore, with a place in the final on the line, is a tough start.
Razaullah, Pakistan debutant
Razaullah replaces the injured Naseem Shah. He joins an attack that has already bowled England out once in this series, for 215 in 38.4 overs.
Pakistan ODI Tri-Series points table after England vs Sri Lanka
This is the table before 25 October, after Sri Lanka's record chase against England in Match 3 (per Wikipedia's series page):
| Team | Played | Won | Lost | Points | NRR |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pakistan | 2 | 2 | 0 | 4 | +1.240 |
| Sri Lanka | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | −0.348 |
| England | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | −0.892 |
What each result means
- If Pakistan win: Pakistan go to 6 points. England can finish on 2 at most and Sri Lanka on 6 at most, so Pakistan are guaranteed a top-two place and a spot in the final.
- If England win: all three teams are alive. Pakistan would be on 4, and Sri Lanka and England on 2 each, with Pakistan vs Sri Lanka (27 October) and England vs Sri Lanka (29 October) to come.
- If England lose: England stay on 0 with one game left. To reach the final they would need to beat Sri Lanka on 29 October, have Sri Lanka also lose to Pakistan, and then finish ahead of Sri Lanka on net run rate. That is possible, but unlikely.
These scenarios assume 2 points per win, which matches the table so far. A washout would change the maths.
Tri-series schedule and results

| 5 | 27 Oct | Lahore | Pakistan vs Sri Lanka |
| 6 | 29 Oct | Lahore | England vs Sri Lanka |
| Final | 31 Oct | Lahore | 1st vs 2nd |
One note on Match 2: ARY News gives the margin as 88 runs. Cricinfo and Wikipedia both say 87, and we have used 87. The format and dates come from the PCB's tri-series announcement, which describes the series as preparation for the ODI World Cup. Each team plays the other two twice, and the top two meet in the final.
The record match England lost: Brook's 202 and Sri Lanka's 430
England's second defeat came in one of the best ODIs in years. In Rawalpindi on 22 October:
- Harry Brook made 202 off 116 balls. It was the fastest ODI double century by balls faced (he reached 200 in 114 balls), and he became the first England batter to score an ODI 200.
- Joe Root became the first England batter to reach 8,000 ODI runs.
- Sri Lanka still chased 430 with one ball to spare. It was their highest successful chase and the second-highest in ODI history. Pavan Rathnayake made 130.
We covered that game ball by ball in our England vs Sri Lanka live score story.
England vs Pakistan in 2026: the earlier meetings
- T20 World Cup, 24 February 2026, Kandy (Super 8): England beat Pakistan by 2 wickets and reached the semi-finals. Brook scored 100 and Shaheen took 4/30 (Cricinfo, Olympics.com).
- Pakistan tour of England, August–September 2026: Wikipedia records England winning the three-Test series 3–0, with Ollie Robinson and Mohammad Abbas named players of the series.
- Tri-series Match 2, 20 October 2026, Rawalpindi: Pakistan won by 87 runs, with Arafat Minhas scoring 59 and taking 6/40.
So England had the better of the year until this series, and Pakistan have taken over at home. Pakistan's batting is still being questioned, though. A former Pakistan player publicly asked Babar Azam "When will you score runs?", which is part of why "pakistan national cricket team" is trending too.
