What time is El Clásico in India?
The match starts at 1:30 AM IST on Monday, 26 October 2026. Officially, kick-off is 21:00 Spanish time on Sunday, 25 October.
Spain puts its clocks back one hour early on Sunday, 25 October, when European summer time ends. That means the gap between India and Spain grows from 3.5 to 4.5 hours on match day. Some pages still quote the old offset. Real Madrid's 1 September announcement says "9:00 pm CEST", and Goal lists "19:00 GMT". Work from either of those and you'll get 12:30 AM IST, which is an hour too early. The correct time is 1:30 AM IST.
El Clásico kick-off time in other time zones
- India (IST): 1:30 AM, Monday, 26 October
- Spain: 9:00 pm, Sunday, 25 October
- UK: 8:00 pm, Sunday, 25 October
- UAE (for Indian fans in the Gulf): 12:00 midnight, Sunday night into Monday
- US East Coast: 4:00 pm ET, Sunday, 25 October
With 90 minutes, half-time and stoppage time, the match should end around 3:25–3:30 AM IST. If you have work or college on Monday, plan your sleep around that.
Where to watch Real Madrid vs Barcelona live in India
FanCode is the only official way to watch La Liga in India. It streams on the FanCode app and website only. No TV channel is showing the match, and you need a paid match pass or subscription. There's no legal free stream. Some search results still show older articles about the 2025-26 Clásico and PVR INOX cinema screenings. Those don't apply to this match.
- Log in and check your pass before midnight. You don't want to be fixing a payment or login problem at 1:25 AM. Check the current match pass or La Liga subscription options on FanCode.
- Watching with friends? Use the FanCode app on your smart TV or cast it from your phone.
- Turn on match notifications so you see the official line-ups around 12:30 AM IST.
- Avoid unofficial streams. Pirate sites are full of malicious pop-ups and fake login pages that steal payment details.
Outside India, the match is on ABC, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes in the US. It's the first time the Clásico has aired on ABC. In the UK it's on Premier Sports.
Why this El Clásico matters: the title race
Barcelona go into the match 1st with 27 points from 9 wins in 9 league games. They've scored 39 and conceded 9, a goal difference of +30. They're the defending champions after winning the last two league titles.
Real Madrid are 3rd on 21 points, with 7 wins, 2 defeats and a goal difference of +14. One of those defeats was 2-1 against Atlético Madrid in late September. Atlético are 2nd on 22 points, one ahead of Madrid.
- If Barcelona win: the gap grows to 9 points before November. The Analyst notes that Madrid are already further behind than at any point at this stage of a season since 2012-13.
- If it's a draw: Barcelona keep their 6-point lead and their perfect league record stays unbeaten.
- If Madrid win: the gap drops to 3 points, Barcelona's perfect start ends, and Mourinho's second spell gets the big early win it needs.
These standings are from after Matchday 9 (checked 24 October 2026). The official La Liga table has the live standings.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid team news
Real Madrid: no Vinícius Jr.
- Vinícius Jr. is serving a four-match ban. He got two games for pulling Nathan Saliba's hair against Villarreal and two more for an outburst at the referee. The ban covers Sevilla, the Clásico, Racing Santander and Valencia. Real Madrid said they would appeal, but no ruling on the appeal has been reported. Mourinho was sarcastic about it: "I'm actually quite pleased… I thought they were going to give him even more!"
- Yan Diomande, signed from RB Leipzig in the summer for a reported fee of around $145 million, is the likely replacement on the left.
- Rodrygo (knee) and Raúl Asencio (leg) are injured.
- Ferland Mendy is a doubt at best. Some outlets list him as out, others as doubtful, so Madrid may need cover at left-back.
Barcelona: Koundé ruled out
- Jules Koundé is out with an ankle problem. Hansi Flick confirmed it at his pre-match press conference on 24 October 2026 and said he was being left out "as a precaution".
- Dani Olmo was injured against PSG and is out for about a month.
- Andreas Christensen and Eric García are also out.
- Roony Bardghji is out with a cruciate ligament injury.
Koundé, Christensen and García are all missing, so Barcelona's back line is thin. That's a big worry against Kylian Mbappé's pace in behind.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid predicted line-ups
The previews disagree on the starting XIs, so treat every predicted line-up as unconfirmed. Here's what is fairly clear:
- Barcelona (Hansi Flick, likely 4-2-3-1): expect Flick's usual high defensive line, with Joan García in goal and Pau Cubarsí at centre-back. Raphinha (La Liga's top scorer with 12 league goals) and Lamine Yamal should lead the attack. Summer signing Anthony Gordon (about €80 million from Newcastle) could make his Clásico debut.
- Real Madrid (José Mourinho, likely 4-2-3-1): Mbappé and Jude Bellingham are the key attackers, with Diomande likely in for Vinícius. Summer signings Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries give Mourinho experienced options in defence. Cucurella is the obvious choice at left-back if Mendy misses out, and Tchouaméni and Arda Güler are tipped to start in midfield.
The official line-ups should be out around 12:30 AM IST on 26 October. You'll find them on FotMob and on both clubs' official channels.
Who is the referee for El Clásico?
According to beIN Sports, the referee is Alejandro Hernández Hernández. We couldn't confirm this on LaLiga's official site. One lower-quality source names Iglesias Villanueva on VAR, but that's unconfirmed. The appointment is controversial because Hernández Hernández also refereed the disputed May 2026 Clásico. In that game, Real Madrid appealed for a penalty when the ball hit Eric García's arm after a Bellingham effort, and it wasn't given.
Key players and stats to watch
- Lamine Yamal: has scored or assisted in 10 straight games (10 goals, 10 assists), and he's on the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist.
- Raphinha: 12 league goals so far, more than anyone else in La Liga.
- Kylian Mbappé: 6 goals in 6 Clásicos, and the kind of runner who can punish Barcelona's high line.
- Jude Bellingham: 6 goal involvements in 6 Clásicos, 3 of them match-winners.
- Barcelona at home: 23 home league wins in a row.
Barcelona's form has one warning sign. They beat Betis 5-2 away on 17 October, but three days later they lost 4-2 at PSG in the Champions League. They gave up 3.7 expected goals (xG) that night, which raised fresh doubts about the high line. Madrid come in after two 4-1 wins: Sevilla in the league on 18 October and RB Leipzig in the Champions League on 21 October.
Flick vs Mourinho: the managers
Hansi Flick has won 6 of his 7 Clásicos as Barcelona coach. At his press conference on 24 October 2026 he called the game "much more than three points".
José Mourinho is back at Real Madrid 13 years after leaving. When asked about Flick at his own press conference, he kept his answer short. His record against Barcelona cuts both ways. His first Clásico in charge was a 5-0 defeat at Camp Nou, which is still Madrid's heaviest league loss this century. But he ended his first spell with a five-game unbeaten run against Barcelona (3 wins, 2 draws). This is his first big test against Flick.
Who won the last El Clásico?
Barcelona won 2-0 on 10 May 2026 at Camp Nou. Marcus Rashford scored in the 9th minute and Ferran Torres added a second in the 18th. The win clinched Barcelona's 29th La Liga title. Flick coached the game only hours after the death of his father was announced. Madrid finished the season without a major trophy for the second year running. One of Goal's widgets shows that game as 4-3, but Goal's own match report and Wikipedia both have it as 2-0.
That also clears up a common mix-up: this isn't the first Clásico at the rebuilt Camp Nou, because the title-deciding game in May was played there. It's the first Clásico of the 2026-27 season and the first since Mourinho returned.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona head-to-head record
Head-to-head figures depend a lot on which games you count, so here's which record we're quoting:
| Record (source) | Real Madrid wins | Barcelona wins | Draws |
|---|---|---|---|
| All competitions, 264 matches (NewsX) | 106 | 106 | 52 |
| La Liga only (NewsX) | 80 | 77 | 35 |
| League series, 60 matches (FotMob / Khel Now) | 21 | 29 | 10 |
Recent form clearly favours Barcelona. They've won 4 of the last 5 meetings:
- 10 May 2026, La Liga: Barcelona 2-0 Real Madrid
- April 2026, Copa del Rey: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid
- January 2026, Supercopa: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid
- 26 October 2025, La Liga: Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona (Bernabéu)
The Ballon d'Or is the next day

Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham are all on the 30-man shortlist, so a big Clásico performance will be fresh in everyone's minds. Indian fans can watch the match overnight and follow the awards later on Monday.
