Delhi Police has refused permission for Diljit Dosanjh's 30 October 2026 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium. Police cited "specific threat related inputs" and law-and-order duties during the festive season. As of the afternoon of 22 October, nobody has officially cancelled the show. Diljit and BookMyShow haven't announced a new date, a new venue or a refund process, so ticket holders should keep their tickets and wait for an official message.
This post explains why the Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert was denied permission, how the date had already moved once, and what you can do now if you hold a ticket. The story is changing quickly, and we'll update this page as statements come in.
Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert denied: confirmed vs unconfirmed
Several headlines already say "concert cancelled." That goes further than the facts. Here's what is confirmed and what isn't:
| Question | Status (22 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| Did Delhi Police refuse permission? | Yes. The DCP (South District) office replied to BookMyShow's application, saying the request "could not be approved." |
| Is the show officially cancelled? | No announcement yet. Neither Diljit nor BookMyShow has cancelled it. |
| Are tickets still on sale? | Yes, the listing is still live. The show was still on BookMyShow on Thursday afternoon, with tickets from ₹6,499. |
| New date or venue? | Not announced. |
| Refund process? | Not announced. |
| Other tour cities affected? | No changes reported. |
Why Delhi Police refused permission for the Diljit Dosanjh concert in Delhi
The refusal came as a letter from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District. It went to BookMyShow, which co-produces and promotes the Aura India Tour through BookMyShow Live. ThePrint says Hindustan Times first reported the letter. It replies to an application dated 14 October 2026.
The letter gives two reasons:
- "Specific threat related inputs". Police haven't said what the threat is or who it concerns.
- Festive-season law-and-order duties. Late October and early November are among the busiest weeks of the year for Delhi Police, with Diwali crowds, markets and processions all needing staff.
A stadium show at JLN needs heavy policing: crowd control at the gates, traffic diversions on Lodhi Road and the surrounding roads, and security inside the venue. When police say they can't provide that cover, the organiser can't legally go ahead on that date and at that venue unless the decision changes.
Is this linked to the Tiger Shroff shooting?
Punjab Kesari connected the decision to the recent shooting at a location linked to Tiger Shroff, where suspects allegedly watched celebrities' homes. That is the outlet's own reading. Delhi Police has not linked the two. If you want the background on that case, read our explainer on the Tiger Shroff firing in Juhu and what we know so far. Treat any direct link as speculation for now.
Why the Delhi show was already moved from 1 November to 30 October
This is the second date problem for the Delhi show. It was first set for 1 November 2026, which is the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence. Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney objected to a concert on that day, and the show was moved earlier to 30 October.
At the time, BookMyShow said tickets bought for 1 November would stay valid for 30 October. Buyers who couldn't make the new date could ask for a refund. If you saw an older schedule that still lists Delhi on 1 November, it's out of date.
So the 30 October date was already a replacement. With permission now refused, organisers have to find another date, another venue or both, and they'll be planning around the festive season and the 1 November anniversary.
Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert tickets: what to do right now
Until there's an official announcement, here's what we recommend:
- Keep your ticket. Don't sell it, transfer it or cancel it in a panic. If the show is rescheduled, your ticket will probably carry over, as it did with the 1 November change.
- Watch your inbox, SMS and the BookMyShow app. Organisers normally message buyers directly. Check your spam folder for emails from BookMyShow.
- Follow only official channels. That means Diljit Dosanjh's verified social accounts, BookMyShow and BookMyShow Live. Ignore WhatsApp forwards that claim a "new venue" or "refund link."
- Screenshot your booking. Save the booking ID, amount paid, payment method and any convenience fees. You'll need these if you have to raise a refund request.
- Hold off on travel bookings. If you're coming from outside Delhi, try not to book non-refundable trains, flights or hotels for 29–31 October until things are clear.
If the show is cancelled: how refunds usually work
BookMyShow hasn't announced a refund process for this show yet. When an organiser cancels an event on BookMyShow, the usual pattern looks like this:
- BookMyShow emails or texts buyers to say the event is cancelled.
- Refunds normally go back to the original payment method: your card, UPI account, net banking or wallet. You usually don't need to fill in a form.
- After the refund starts, your bank or card issuer can take several working days to show it on your statement.
- If the refund doesn't arrive in the time BookMyShow gives, contact support through the app's help section and quote your booking ID.
If the show is rescheduled, there may be two options: keep the ticket for the new date, or ask for a refund within a set window. That's what BookMyShow offered for the 1 November → 30 October change. Wait for the official terms, though. Don't assume the same rules will apply this time.
Watch out for ticket scams
Uncertainty is a gift to fraudsters. During Diljit's 2024 Dil-Luminati shows in Delhi, fake tickets were a real problem. Expect fake "refund helpline" numbers, phishing links and resellers offering "confirmed" tickets for a rescheduled date. BookMyShow will never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN or a payment to "process" a refund. If you've already lost money, here's how to report it on the 1930 cyber fraud helpline.
Diljit Dosanjh Aura India Tour 2026: the other cities
Delhi was supposed to open the Aura India Tour. No changes have been reported for the other dates:
| City | Date | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi | 30 Oct (permission denied) | JLN Stadium |
| Indore | 15 Nov | C21 Estate |
| Ahmedabad | 21 Nov | Narendra Modi Stadium |
| Mumbai | 27 Nov | Mahalaxmi Race Course |
| Bengaluru | 29 Nov | NICE Grounds |
| Lucknow | 5 Dec | 19th National Jamboree Ground |
| Chandigarh | Not confirmed | Not announced |
Some outlets also list Kolkata, but the main published schedules don't. Tickets are sold only on BookMyShow. The RuPay presale opened on 6 October at 12 noon, and general sale started on 9 October at 2 PM. Launch coverage said prices started at about ₹1,000 across venues. The Delhi listing now starts at ₹6,499, possibly because the cheaper tiers sold out, but we couldn't verify that.

What could happen next
Three outcomes look realistic. None has been confirmed:
- A new date in Delhi. This would probably be after the festive rush, once police have more staff free. Organisers would also want to avoid 1 November.
- A different venue in Delhi-NCR. Moving to a ground outside the South District, or outside Delhi Police's area, would need fresh permission from that local authority.
- Cancellation with refunds. If no date or venue works, BookMyShow would announce a cancellation and refund buyers.
There's demand for any of these. In October 2024, Diljit sold out two JLN Stadium shows on his Dil-Luminati tour and added an extra date. Organisers will want to save the Delhi show if they can.
